Proficiency in English Language Requirement from 1 Sept 2014

From 1 Sept 2014, foreign-trained pharmacists with degrees outside the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand must show evidence of English proficiency at pre registration training unless they are already registered at those countries.

This serves to inform all concerned that with effect from 1 September 2014, Singapore Pharmacy Council will include the following requirement for foreign trained pharmacists or pharmacy graduates seeking registration as a pharmacist in Singapore:

  • It is required that international pharmacy graduates who obtained their pharmacy degree (part or entire programme) outside of UK, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand must show evidence of proficiency in English Language at the point of application for pre registration training unless they are registered as a pharmacist in USA, UK (except EEA pharmacists registered via the treaty agreement), Australia, Canada or New Zealand.
